If you have any ideas please post a comment or if your interested in a private workshop email me anytime.

The first in our series of workshops will be a wet felted purse. A one day workshop held right in beautiful downtown almonte, you might even fall in love and move here like I did ;).

Future felting workshop ideas include felted slippers, birdhouses, artistic vessels, nuno felted scarves, flower broches including our lovely poppies, and even christmas stockings.

What are you looking forward to the most? Any ideas of what you would like to learn? Weaving and spinning workshops are to come as well as I get the interest and demand so please let us know what youd like to see.

Sitting around at the arena...

Im sitting on an arena for the first time in well over a decade and thinking of all you moms, dads, wives, girlfriends and good friends who show up at all times to a cold arena, wet field, or curling club. Now what do you work on while sitting on the sidelines chearring on your loved ones. Im on a second date and here I sit to blog since I completely forgot my knitting.
See if I was a true hockey girlfriend I would have emergency knitting in my trunk for just this case. Hopefully this is only one in many late evenings spent in an arena watching a sport not because I adore it but because I want to be supportive. Ive been worn he leads in penalties in his league so Im going to need some simple knitting for when i get worried that he got hit in the head which is my biggest fear in general.
Now I want to see your selfies out there knitting away and any suggestions on arena knitting would be really great.

A project for your garden

I know most of you probably arent thinking of spring yet but I am very much looking forward to gardening this year. No I dont have space for a garden but I hope to find a space somewhere nearby. Today I finished over 60 plant tags and a small stepping stone out of leftover and reclaymed clay and have spent time researching how to grow potatoes in a pot which is where this post came to me.

Heres a project for that acrylic someone gave you that you have no clue what you can do with. Yes I know I havent gone nuts but I am recomending acrylic for this project  but its a way to use up those scraps. Planting potatoes in bags is great for small spaces and makes life easier as well. You cants make the bags out of wool or cotton because these will biodegrade which is great for everything else but not in the garden.

I havent written a pattern yet since I only just came up with the idea but I invite you to join me on this journey.

Basicly its a GIANT tuque that you can line with landscaping fabric if you wish before starting to fill it with soil and your future potatoes. I promise to post pictures as I go for this piece of functional garden art.

Wow one hell of a last few months

Well ive spent months healling from a concussion that happened in August during twist. After reading the facebook page of a knitwear designer ive adored for years she has inspired me to come out in the open. To all my Canadian followers youll understand when I tell you Im 1 in 5. I suffer from mental health issues. Depression and anxiety can comsume my life but thanks to meds, an incredible yoga instructor and life coach (Barb from Coaching Horizons) and my weird brain treatments after my concussion (HPN has changed my life) I can finally say im getting better. Ok i still get upset and depressed but I can deal with life changes with much more ease.

So Ive been up to lots of fun things lately. To all my southern Ontario fans youll be able to find me this spring at Fibre Frolic in Toronto and ill have some new products for you including kits as well as buttons. Yes ive made nearly 500 buttons and now need to glaze and card them all. The yarn has been ordered and ill be starting to dye this years stock shortly. Gues what that means ive got last years stock still around so keep an eye on our website ;). Oh yes go check out the website now, not all the good pictures are there yet but our website is taking shape. For christmas I got a proper light box and will actually be able to get good pictures which will make your online shopping experience not only possible but also pleasurable.

We are waiting to apply to some more fall shows as well as a new farmers market for the summer and hope to be able to announce good news to everyone shortly. For now we have confirmed fibre frolic as well as twist.

Ive been meaning to tell you all this news as it has come along but finally got over my anxiety and just did it.

Since I need to share even more joy here is a picture of my succulent babies. My best friend is getting married so I offered to make the centerpieces and favors all in one. Everyday I wake up to see if there are new roots or baby plants forming which is very exciting.
